On a beautiful Saturday night, I decided to treat myself and my friends to a memorable dining experience at Afi Steaks & Platters, located in the vibrant heart of Nairobi, Kenya. Known for their exceptional steak and tantalizing platters, I was excited to dive into their mouthwatering offerings.
As we arrived at around 7 PM, the ambiance was inviting, filled with warm lighting and cheerful music that instantly set the mood for a delightful evening. The staff welcomed us with smiles, making us feel instantly at home. Our waiter, Paul, was particularly attentive and friendly, ensuring we were completely comfortable throughout our meal.
We decided to order a few items to get the full experience. First up was the highly recommended Antitheft Platter. My goodness, it was truly delightful! The platter was beautifully arranged, featuring tender pieces of mbuzi and an array of sides that made it a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Priced reasonably, it offered excellent value for money, especially considering the generous portions. My friends and I were simply amazed by how delicious it was, fully living up to the rave reviews.
Alongside the Antitheft, we also ordered some fried mbuzi, which did not disappoint. It was served piping hot and burst with flavors, perfectly spiced just as we had requested. As a side, we sampled the Virgin Mojito, which, while enjoyable, could use a little improvement to elevate its flavor profile, as it tasted somewhat syrupy.
For dessert, we couldn't resist the Mutura - a traditional delicacy that I had to try. While I didn’t see a price on the menu for this, it was absolutely worth it as it offered a unique taste that tied our exceptional meal together.
Throughout the evening, Paul checked in on us, ensuring our drinks were never empty and asking if we needed anything else. His genuine enthusiasm and service made the experience even more enjoyable.
